Dallas, Texas: Muffler Man - Happy Halfwit (Gone)
A giant country goof with an Alfred E. Neuman head stands over a muffler repair shop parking lot and holds a muffler. So you if you can't read, you might still figure out what they do here. Removed by new corporate owner in June 2022.

Muffler Man - Happy Halfwit
Happy has been removed. An employee said that he had been donated or sold to some sort of museum, but was short on the details of what and where that might be. The only thing for certain is the new business sign is boring.

Absolutely breathtaking. Easily the best Muffler Man in all of Dallas.
[Phil, 06/12/2010]Ken's Mufflers on US 75 at Fitzhugh Ave, just north of downtown Dallas: Here's the story on the Dallas Mufflermen. Bud (of Bud and Ben's Mufflers) and Ken (of Ken's Mufflers) are estranged brothers and former business partners. Bud and Ben's used to be Bud and Ken's. Some time ago, at least 20 years, they had a falling out and parted ways. Bud changed the ''K" in Ken's to a "B" because he was too cheap to change the whole sign. There is NO Ben!!! This tale was told to me by Ken, himself, 15 years ago. I went to the Fitzhugh Ken's the first time BECAUSE of the sign, but keep going back because they do great work, because Ken is a real nice guy and because they usually have free donuts.
(There used to be an abortion clinic across the street from Ken's. It was always entertaining to watch the protesters clash from the air-conditioned comfort of Ken's waiting room.)
[Jack, 07/03/1998]Driving back from vacation last week, my family and I enjoyed a breathtaking piece of Americana -- a Muffler Man. The "Alfred E. Neuman head" version (complete with straw hat) is located on the frontage road near the Dolphin Rd exit on Interstate 30 just east/southeast of downtown Dallas.
