92 odd murals by various artists were painted on walls throughout downtown Rochester, with titles such as, "All That Is Solid Melts Into Air." The notorious "Sleeping Bears" mural - our favorite - was vandalized in 2021, then painted over in 2023.

There are 92 murals in Rochester, with the majority of them concentrated within the Inner Loop freeway. They were painted between 2011-2014 as a project called Wall Therapy and they are very interesting and colorful. The Wall Therapy web site has a map that shows the location of each mural.

It was. "Sleeping Bears," completed in 2012, had many detractors in Rochester: some thought that the bears looked like rats, some thought that they were doing something sexual. The mural was vandalized in 2021, then painted over in 2023.
