Auto parts man. Windsor, South Carolina - Auto Parts Sculpture

This is not a "Muffler Man." Rather this is a "man" made from auto parts and the tank from a water heater. He stands on the north side of the road. Look carefully -- he's almost engulfed in weeds, etc. [Charlie Brown, 09/05/2006]

Windsor, South Carolina - Auto Parts Sculpture

On Highway 78 between Williston and Aiken, there is an old, tumble-down junk shop in a shack on the RIGHT side of the road as you travel west toward Aiken. The yard is strewn with different kinds of automotive and domestic junk, including some pretty interesting classic cars, and I've never seen a living human being on the premises except those of us who stop to wander around the yard. On the highway, standing proudly with one arm raised, is a somewhat rusty but nevertheless recognizable MUFFLER MAN, sort of a bizarre, art deco type, that has been there as long as I can remember. [Frampton Durban, Jr., 02/07/2002]

[RA: Rusty? Hmmm... sounds like another car parts sculpture, not a fiberglass Muffer Man!]
