Bucky Badger at Alumni Park
The University of Wisconsin-Madison unveiled "Well Red," an approachable Bucky Badger statue, at the official opening of the new Alumni Park on campus on Oct. 6, 2017. Unlike real-life badgers, this one wears a backpack, sits atop a stack of giant books, and strikes a pose reminiscent of "The Thinker" as he stares across Lake Mendota.
Other features of the park include an 80-foot-long "Badger Pride Wall," a seven-foot-tall steel cone known as "The Lantern," and "Progress Point," overlooking Lake Mendota from above. The park is designed to provide a nighttime viewing experience as well.
