I visited this place in 1973 with my mother and baby daughter. We purchased some water from the well. An old farmer told us that it was a blessed well and people had reported the water was a cure-all. My baby daughter later developed a urinary tract infection. She drank some of the blessed water and was completely cured by her next doctor's visit. We went back years later and could no longer find it.
[Marci, 03/03/2009]God's Well was on the north side of I-44 between Rolla and Lebanon in the 1970s. Always wondered what it was, but never stopped. Saw the sign for years but it wasn't adjacent to an exit.
[Fred Rohlfing, 05/22/2007]A friend and I stopped at God's well in the early '80s. It was somewhere in SW Missouri about 1/2 mile off an interchange on the north side of I-44. It was closed due to a "big accident back east" according to a hand-painted sign at the entrance. No one was around so my friend and I hopped the fence and looked around. Pretty much seemed like a big wishing well type thing in a field. I took a few photos and we headed back up I-44. After that, the sign seemed to be torn down and I could never again figure out exactly where it had been.
[tim markus, 03/18/2006]I used to live in Rolla, Missouri, and remember God's Well as being somewhere west on I-44. I don't think it was as far as Lebanon, MO. It was on the north side of I-44.
[J. Keller, 07/19/2001]Somewhere along I-44, I think in Missouri, there used to be a place called "God's Well" that seemed to consist of some big handpainted signs in a farmer's field and not much else. The signs were so verbose and my dad drove so fast (this was back in the 70's, before the speed limit went down to 55) that we could never find out exactly what this place was all about.
