[Julie Geyer, 10/19/2015]Ship Shaped Car Wash
Last summer, while poking around Wisconsin looking for interesting things to photograph, I came across this architectural gem on the outskirts of Eau Claire. In this case a photo pretty much says all that really needs to be said... Go here and your car will be "ship shape" when you leave. Needless to say, with a name like "Ship Shape," a building shaped like a ship could be the only logical design choice. It seems somewhat ironic that this thing has better lines than a modern cruise ship, most of which seem to have used a shoebox for styling inspiration. Car washes are supposed to be boxy, ships are supposed to look like, well, ships.
